This is the second book in the Before the Coffee Gets Cold series (I am now several pages into the third). This book didn’t add a whole lot to what I learnt from the first, but I’m rarely discouraged by repetition, especially as someone who’s watched the entirety of Gossip Girl over 4 times through. I guess this edition goes a little further into the lore of the cafe. We learn about the regulars and get a little more cross-generational with the time-travellers. Its sweet and emotional - my kind of book. Kawaguchi (the author) is a romantic. He writes all relationships: couples, friends and family, in such a romantic and soft way, All the relationships come across as significant in their own way. I enjoy that a lot. I already praised the first book, and if you liked it, the second is definitely worth the read.
